  "Welcome" to A Thread of Hope  We hope that you will discover here not only beautiful items woven with pride and great care, but also the feeling of joy as an ancient people gain new strength to meet the future.

  We want to share with you the story of 200 determined Kaqchikel women who have risen from the ashes to create hope, beauty and new opportunities for themselves and their communities.

  The finely crafted weavings of Asociacion Maya are the result of the women's patient and dedicated labor.  They are building blocks in the bridge of understanding and deep appreciation, from the hands of Mayan women to the hearts of all of you.
